YL Christmas Party

Posted December 18th, 2011 in Berkner, Multicultural, Pearce, RAYL, Richardson, WyldLife by Todd

It is always special to have our entire Richardson Area Young Life family (committee, leaders and staff) together to celebrate Christ’s birth. From incredible food to fun games and great conversation, the night is one to remember. We couldn’t begin to thank everyone that played a critical role in making the night all that it was. So we will say “Thank You” to committee and the friends of Young Life that spent countless hours making sure the details of the night were just right! It was a night like none other!

Here are a few pictures from the night:

Thanksgiving at the Heberts!

Posted November 29th, 2011 in Richardson by Todd

Over the past few weeks club has been lots of fun and some really cool things are happening at RHS.  One of the coolest things took place over the break. During the thanksgiving break we got to have “family dinner” with some of our campaigner kids!  Students brought their favorite dish and we had so many different things to choose from.  We had 30 people packed in to our apartment and had such a fun night.  We all got to eat together, play games together and laugh together! It was an incredible night and am very thankful for what God is doing in Richardson!

All Area Dodgeball

Posted November 16th, 2011 in Berkner, Multicultural, Pearce, RAYL, Richardson by Todd

On Monday night, around 400 students showed up for an All-Area Dodgeball Tournament. It was truly “controlled chaos”. Kids from each school got dressed up by grade and came out with the hopes of bringing YL bragging rights home to their school. It was a great night and will hopefully build momentum for the final month of club.
While the dodgeball games were exciting, the highlight of the night was when past leader, now committee member Bryan Plantes got up to share how God has changed his life. He clearly showed explained that when he came to know Christ, it changed who he Worshiped, which changed his Wants, ultimately changing his Walk. God transforms us from this inside out.

Rangers + Young Life= WIN

Posted October 25th, 2011 in Berkner, Richardson by Todd
Last night Richardson and Berkner Young Life had a huge Rangers watching party!! Kids got to hang out at The Heights eating hotdogs, playing games and watching the Rangers on the big screen. It was a super fun night of kids and leaders hanging out. This is what Young Life is all about – life together!
Next week, club is back on for Richardson, Club and Grub and Berkner High Schools at their regular places and times! Its halloween, so rock out your best costume and look forward to a really fun night!!!

RHS’ Second Club

Posted September 29th, 2011 in Richardson by Todd

This past Monday was our second official club of the year and kids had a great time!!  Our senior class has really stepped up and are doing a good job creating a fun environment at club. One of my favorite parts of club was when I saw two senior guys walk in who haven’t really showed much interest in coming around!!  The night began with a crowd favorite game “baby, backpack, bunkbed”, it was awesome to see kids dancing around, jumping on each others back, and just having a good time.

As the night went on we sang songs and then one of the senior guys was called up by the refarizzles to be a “chair” for musical chairs and he just could not stop smiling!  Our volunteer leaders got to dramatically eat a banana to “Eye of the Tiger” with a strobe light going as an excuse to introduce themselves to everybody, I love having such a presence of volunteers this year!
At the end of the night I got to share with students that we don’t have to wonder who God is or what He is like because He has already showed us in the person of Jesus Christ.  I challenged the picture they have of Jesus Christ and told them that there has never been and never will be anyone that compares to Jesus Christ and that He came because He is crazy about us and wants us to know Him!!

RHS Young Life 2009!

Posted October 7th, 2009 in Richardson by admin

Every Monday at 7:29 Richardson YoungLife is the place to be.  We kicked off the year on September 14 with our first official club.  We sang songs, played games, acted crazy and throughout this semester we will talk about the coolest man that ever walked the face of the earth.  If you missed it we have plenty more and believe us you do not want to miss out on this.  If you made it, we were so happy that you were there and don’t let  your friends miss out on it, bring them all.  Every Monday that you have school, we will have YoungLife.  If you do not have shool, then we will not have YoungLife.  We meet at the corner of Spring Creek and Arapaho right behind Fellowship Bible Church.  We are so excited about the YoungLife legacy that is starting this year, and want you to be a part of it.
